Prior to becoming an independent broker and franchisee at William B. May, Barbara Ann Rogers was a Vice President at Brown Harris Stevens. She made the successful transition to real estate following 25 years in international and investment banking, including eight years spent in Paris. Her banking career has left her with a thorough understanding of the financial considerations involved in real estate. Having lived in Brooklyn since 1981 (interrupted from 1995 – 2003), Barbara has an encyclopedic knowledge of the borough and its history. She has lived in several historic Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, and, now, Prospect Lefferts Gardens. “Paris was wonderful,” she says, “but Brooklyn is my home.” Barbara is very excited to combine this knowledge, her financial acumen, and her experience in all phases of real estate (she has been a tenant and a landlord, as well as a buyer and a seller) with the limitless opportunities she can offer her clients and customers as an independent broker and REBNY member, including taking advantage of new marketing techniques and advertising opportunities. Barbara is a member of the Montauk Club, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and the Prospect Park Alliance, as well as the Real Estate Board of New York. She is a board member and treasurer of the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association, Inc. She is fluent in French.
